Project overview
The TPI Association app serves the largest ex-service organisation in South Australia. It gives members a mobile way to join, renew their membership and stay engaged with the association across both iOS and Android.
The challenge
The association needed new features and fixes for its member app, plus a reliable backend and APIs to connect its Flutter mobile app across iOS and Android.
Our solution
We added new features and resolved existing issues on the app, built and maintained the backend with PHP and Laravel, and developed APIs to link the backend with the Flutter mobile app. The result lets members join, renew memberships and track their engagement from one app.
How we approached it
Membership rules came first: joining, renewal and eligibility are what the organisation runs on, so they were modelled in the Laravel backend before the app existed. The REST layer was designed for a mobile client specifically rather than exposed generically, then the Flutter app built against it. The work continues as maintenance, because a membership cycle throws up changes every year.
The results
Delivered new features and a reliable backend for the association's member app, giving members a single cross-platform way to join, renew and stay engaged.
