Project overview
Kognio is an education platform that helps schools and tutors manage courses, classes, assignments and schedules. It serves both students and teachers, giving each a clear, role-appropriate way to work.
The challenge
The client needed one easy-to-use platform to manage courses, classes, assignments and schedules, and to support the day-to-day interaction between students and teachers.
Our solution
We built the platform with PHP, Laravel and MySQL. It offers secure admin and student login, course and class management, and assignment handling. Students can open their enrolled classes and subjects and submit assignments, while teachers review the work, give feedback and approve it — all backed by a scalable database and a clear interface.
How we approached it
We mapped the academic cycle first — courses, classes, assignments, schedules and who can see what — because education platforms fail on permissions more often than on features. The role model for students and teachers was settled before feature work, then scheduling and assignments were built against it. Reporting came last, once there was real activity to report on rather than assumed metrics.
The results
Streamlined course and class management, made learning easier to follow, and improved collaboration between students and teachers.
