Shopify Development

Shopify storefronts, custom themes and apps — built around conversion rather than around the theme you bought.

Discuss your Shopify Development project

Shopify removes an enormous amount of undifferentiated work: payments, PCI compliance, inventory, tax, shipping and fraud all handled. What it does not do is make your store convert. That comes from how the product pages, search and checkout are built — and from resisting the temptation to install an app for every requirement, each one adding scripts that slow the page that has to sell.

Who this is for

Retailers launching online or replatforming from something they have outgrown. Existing Shopify merchants whose store is slow or converting poorly. Businesses needing custom functionality beyond what the app store offers.

Problems we solve

  • App-induced slowness. A dozen apps injecting scripts into every page load.
  • Poor product discovery. Search and filtering that cannot cope with the catalogue size.
  • Checkout abandonment. Friction, surprise costs and a poor mobile experience.
  • Theme limitations. A purchased theme that cannot express what the brand needs.
  • Disconnected systems. Orders manually re-entered into ERP or accounting.

What we build

  • Custom Shopify themes in Liquid, built for your catalogue and brand
  • Headless storefronts with Hydrogen or Next.js where performance justifies it
  • Custom Shopify apps for functionality the app store does not cover
  • Product search and filtering that works at your catalogue size
  • Checkout extensions and subscription flows within Shopify's rules
  • Integration with ERP, accounting, fulfilment and marketing systems
  • Performance work: script auditing, image optimisation, Core Web Vitals

How we work

We audit installed apps before adding anything — removing three unused apps often does more for speed than any optimisation we could write. Product pages are built around conversion: clear imagery, honest delivery information, and no surprises at checkout. Changes go through a staging theme, never directly onto a live store.

Technologies we use

Shopify Liquid, Shopify CLI and the Admin and Storefront APIs, Hydrogen and Next.js for headless builds, Shopify Functions for custom logic, and integrations with ERP, accounting and fulfilment platforms.

Business benefits

  • Faster pages, which for storefronts translates directly into revenue
  • Better product discovery, so customers find what they came for
  • Orders flowing into your back-office systems without re-keying
  • PCI compliance, hosting and payment infrastructure handled by the platform

Common questions

Shopify or a custom store?

Shopify for the vast majority of retailers — the payment, tax and compliance work it absorbs is not worth rebuilding. Custom only where your commercial model genuinely does not fit the platform.

Should we go headless?

Only if performance or front-end flexibility is worth the added complexity and cost. A well-built Liquid theme is fast, and cheaper to maintain.

Why is our store slow?

Usually apps. Each one injects scripts on every page. An app audit is the first thing we do and often the highest-impact change available.

Store not converting? Start with the app audit and the product page.
