Project overview
Elit Journalen is a web-based management system for clinics. It gives clinical staff one secure place to handle patient records and appointments, with separate roles for administrators, doctors, secretaries and nurses.
The challenge
The clinic needed to replace scattered manual record-keeping with one secure system that several staff roles could share to manage patient journals, lab results, medicine and bookings.
Our solution
We built a role-based web application where Admin, Doctor, Secretary and Nurse roles each have their own access rights. The system manages patient journals, lab results, medicine, remisser reports and appointment booking from one place, keeping information organised and secure.
How we approached it
Clinical systems get their access model right first or not at all, so we began with roles, record ownership and audit requirements before any interface work. Patient records and appointment scheduling were built against that model, with the database design done deliberately rather than emerging from the code. Interface work followed, shaped by how clinical staff actually move through a day rather than by the shape of the tables.
The results
Replaced manual, scattered record-keeping with one secure system, giving clinic staff clearer visibility of patient information and a smoother booking workflow.
